APPLICATION DEVELOPER
Summary:
Since 1996, The Capris
Group has worked closely with multiple high-profile clients to build boutique web applications. We specialize in the design of systems to manage mission critical information, built around existing business processes and information flow.
We are seeking a Web Application Developer capable of designing/building/maintaining custom internet applications. This high energy individual must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment. Experience with web development methodologies and practices, is an absolute necessity. The candidate will work
on projects independently or on a team depending on the scope of projects.
Responsibilities:
The Web Application Developer is responsible for/expected to:
- Participate in the creation of web applications including design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of software.
- Elicit from clients, all requirements of system to be built.
- Preparing time estimates for design, development and unit testing.
- Preparing software specifications prior to programming.
- Performing quality assurance testing of the implemented code to ensure that it meets the quality standards.
- Providing bug fixes for new and existing software.
- Perform research to investigate technologies required for projects, and present proposed action plans.
- Adhere to the software development processes and methodologies of the company.
- Work independently on assigned tasks.
The candidate should have/be:
- Excellent English proficiency as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills but also not afraid to ask questions.
- Able to schedule and meet deadlines under tight time constraints.
- 2+ years experience in web application development.
- Solid knowledge of .NET Platform, ASP.NET and C#.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, and specifically using MS SQL server and Transact SQL.
- Solid understanding of Software Engineering methodologies and experience developing software specifications before development.
- Comfortable with the Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 and/or 2005 IDEs.
- Comfortable with Windows (XP, 2000, Server 2003, Vista).
- Strong understanding of Client/Server application architectures.
- Comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Have good interpersonal skills, including: Teamwork, Respect, Courtesy, Tact and Discretion.
- Comfortable with the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE.
- Familiar with Client/Server applications.
- Comfortable with Windows/Linux/FreeBSD operating systems is an asset.
- Comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Have good interpersonal skills, including: Teamwork, Respect, Courtesy, Tact and Discretion.
Nice-to-have-skills:
- Experience with PHP, Java/JSP/Servlets, Classic ASP languages and MY SQL, Oracle RDBMS platforms.
- Comfortable with Linux/FreeBSD operating systems.
- Comfortable with SCM systems such as CVS and Visual Source Safe.
- Experience with Crystal Reports and/or SSRS.

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Summary:
Since 1996, The Capris

Responsibilities:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for:
- Enhancements, modifications, testing and maintenance of all current systems.
- Responsible for daily activities including automated system back-ups, upgrades and running scheduled maintenance of network servers, routers, switches, hubs, etc.
- New server deployment.
- Resolution of any technical problems related to network environment (OS, network, etc.)
- Performs other tasks and projects as assigned.
Skills Required:
- Linux/BSD Systems Administration, including:
- FreeBSD 4.x, 5.x 6.x general systems management
- RedHat Enterprise Linux general systems management
- qmail and sendmail MTA administration
- Apache 1.3.x, 2.x web server administration
- Bash scripting knowledge
- MySQL Server administration
- BIND 9 administration
- Windows 2000/2003 Server Administration, including:
- General systems management
- IIS Configuration
- MS SQL Server 2000/2005 administration and maintenance
- FrontPage server extensions
- DNS/DHCP Services management
- Active Directory administration
- Extensive knowledge of hardware, including:
- IDE and SCSI disk/RAID systems
- Familiarity with building PC systems from parts
- Good troubleshooting abilities
- General Phone & Email support for client issues, including:
- Windows E-Mail programs (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.)
- FTP programs (WS-FTP, CuteFTP, IE, ect.)
- Microsoft FrontPage
Nice-to-have-skills:
- General knowledge of networking technologies, including:
- Familiarity with various routing protocols (such as BGP, OSPF, RIP) and configuration on various platforms
- Familiarity with Cisco IOS based routers and switches
- Good knowledge of firewalls (OpenBSD's Packet Filter and Cisco PIX highly preferred)
- Site-to-site and Client-to-site VPN tunnel configuration and troubleshooting
- Other technologies, including:
- VMWare Server
- VMWare ESX Server 2.5.x
- Postgress SQL Server
- Oracle 9/10
- IBM Websphere
- Tomcat 4.x, 5.x

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL

virtualization and consolidation, Capris is now ready to offer full hosting services which includes managed, colocation and shared hosting.
Description:
We are looking for an outgoing Sales Professional to help take us to the next level in Managed Hosting. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of
hosting technologies including: server hardware components and configurations, Unix and Windows operating systems and related applications, multiple server
systems, and security. A sales background in the hosting industry or server hardware business is essential. Successful candidates should possess a business
or technical degree or equivalent, a strong grasp of the sales process, experience in handling and managing accounts, and have the ability to learn new
concepts quickly and efficiently.. You will be expected to support the sales team by generating new leads through various mediums and the existing customer
base. You will spend some time outside the office meeting with potential clients and attending networking functions. Working closely with the sales team you will
assist in preparing proposals, managing existing customers, as well as following up with multiple departments to resolve issues for customers. The ideal
candidate is outgoing, self-driven and will do what it takes to increase sales. If this sounds like you then we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sales functions including lead generation and follow up
- Contact prospective clients through phone, e-mail, or in person
- Manage existing customers
- Coordinate with sales, follow up with technical support, billing and NOC to resolve issues for customers
- Conduct customer satisfaction surveys, communicate to the Marketing and Product groups to help to gather information for analysis
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in High Tech Sales, inside sales and account management
- Recent experience in the web hosting, data center, software application, or web application sector
- BS Computer Science, Business and/or Marketing would be an asset
- Excellent presentation skills
- Technical understanding and background in networking and Internet technologies
- Great problem solving skills and effective verbal and written communications abilities. Ability to work in a team environment

- General administrative duties including: preparing correspondence, taking minutes at meetings, photocopying, faxing, filing, ordering office supplies, management of attendance/vacation records.
- Handle incoming telephone calls professionally and redirect or follow-up as appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the creation and enhancement of presentations and marketing support materials.
- Market and customer research using Internet.
- Co-ordinate and assist in various marketing initiatives.
The candidate should have/be:

Responsibilities:
The Web Application Developer is responsible for/expected to:
- You will provide phone & email support to our clients for all Web hosting related problems. You will also be responsible for coordinating and providing supportive training to address knowledge gaps in a client's skills.
- To qualify, you must have general understanding of Internet, Web hosting and Microsoft's software products and operating systems.
- The successful candidate must be able to work with little supervision and be fluent in English, both oral and written. The candidate must also be able to act in a responsive and sensitive manner to all client inquiries. More duties will be assigned with experience.
- The candidate MUST be available for rotation on nights, weekends and holidays shifts.
- Please note that this position is permanent and is not ideal for students looking for summer time placement or short-term work opportunities.
